zx-9r

i have a 02 zx9r and it starts and idles just fine but when i hit the throttle it dogs out around 5000 rpm and does so through all the gears, please help.

My first guess is the carbs, pull them off and give them a good cleaning and see it that helps

Sounds like your mains have crud in them. How long was the bike sitting before you put fresh gas in it?
