Hello i am new to the forum and was looking for advice, I need more power! I have a full muzzy, k&n filter and sprocket change. but i need more, i am in the middle of rebuilding the carbs adjusting the pilots and jetting it but the bike just seems to slow. I have been riding for years and this bike wont power wheelie or come up in second. any advice at all

The 7 won't do a roll-on wheelie. Without clutching it, you always have to run it up hard to to powerband threshold, get off and then hammer it right back on... only way it will come up without the clutch unless you weigh like 90 lbs.

This is one of the reasons why lots of people started putting ZX9 motors in their 7's after they came out in 94.

Now... if you want a bike to stunt around - the 7 is not the right bike. It is a heavy tank. If you want a firmly planted bike with amazing handling abilities and more than enough power to run it right to the edge - then the 7 is the right bike. 0-60 in 3 flat in first gear off the showroom floor is not exactly "slow".

I think that the 7's power capabilities and once the suspension is set, it is a potent ride. I prefer to keep the front planted whenever possible. I think that the feeling slow is maybe a little more like being more well balanced. However, on the power issue, I did overbore mine .5mm, crosshatched the walls to my liking, slotted and degreed the cams and used the stock exhaust for the track with good results. My full Muzzy is still sitting in the box.

i kinda feel the same bout it feeling a bit slugish but as he said its a great handling bike and well rounded. i got the full muzzy on it but it needs carb work done i just got it setas close as i could without thowing something(im thinking a lil on the too rich side) but gots a vortex spocket kit on itthat helped but it also made my already quick shifts quicker.im on the nearer 180lbs mark so i may be going for the bigger motor soon if i cant get it to the preformace i want.
