okay my hubby is sleeping. I found the starter but I can't see where I should use the hand tester. The manual is showing leads up by the junction box is this where I should test? Sorry I am still learning a lot everyday about this bike

set the multimeter to voltage, slip the boot off of the starter or get the lead into the molex connection. You could take an amp draw while starting also. But only one wire of the starter if you did that.

yes, you can test directly off of the "box",does not tell us the wire from the box to the starter, but that will work.

okay when I test at the box and have the tester set to ACV on 10 the needle jumps all the over to the left...I hope I am doing this right?

no doubt...I will stick with the gear no electricity there...so should I delete my last post to save face around here or what?

hahaha, I know my meters but not yours, so really do not know what the reference was. Its all good. Keep up the good work.
