i'm guessing you're talking about the alignment bolt and jambnut assembly on the left and right side of the bike? the one that kinda looks like a big *** nut with a slot cut in it? you can use a hammer and chisle if you're careful to loosen that nut (acting as a jamb nut for the alignment adjuster). you can use the same to tighten it. you dont have to get it uber tight.when te adjuster comes tight against the motor, that alone is almost enough to keep it in place.

if you've ever machined, or know somwone who can, you can size a piece of pipe up, mill out the tangs to line up with the slots, then weld an old socket up inside the other side or weld a bolt to it, for turning ability. you can mill the tangs to be 1/4" wide at 0 and 180 degrees on the pipe, and use a 4 flute 3/8" endmill. (if the pipe you use is carbon stel, stainless may need a 5flute)

i've never had a problem with using chisles tho. just use the appropriate size. and if you can find a dull one.... even better!!

Question. Why pull the engine just for a head gasket? I am sure that the 01 is different than my 90, just asking.
