I blew a head gasket on my 01 zx7 and in order to remove the engine, i need a special locknut socket for the locknuts on the engine mounting adjusters anyone know where i could find this tool?

 

may have to go through a stealership if you can't find one online. might be able to rent one from a bike mechanic.

 

your talking about the king (castle) nut on the top right side of the bike right. I used to flat head screw driver and a persuader aka hammer. dont go all incredible hulk and beat the **** outta it. be gentle lol. if that doesnt work, take a socket and use a dremel to cut out the grooves needed, and use that. Thats what I did for my swingarm nut that you need the almighty "special tool" for lol.

 

do you have the tool set that came with the bike? cause that has another tool you wil need to drop the engine.

The 01 7 needed a special tool? dang. But having tools on hand is good. Pulled the engine out of my 90 7 a few times already.
