front signal removal
if there the same as my 97 which im sure they are, they are held in by just a rubber grommet (hope i spelled that right) they should just pop out of the hole, give them a little wiggle and pull gently. i took mine out and put in a pair of the flush mounts...looks alot better that way, mine is put away for the winterbut if you need a pic i would be more than happy to go out to the garage and uncover her and take a pic, let me know, its just a two wire system so you can check your positive wire with a testing light.
Yah, I'm putting flush mounts on too. I started out trying to just pop one off, but I didn't wanna screw up or break anything. So, right now I have the air intakes off because they go right over top of the signals so I can get access to the signals in the inside of the fairings. I'll have to try what you suggested tomorrow or something and hopefully figure out something.
You are correct, but,,,any bolt that is flanged and is captive by a nutbetweenthe bodywork and theexterior part isactually a bolt on part. Am I wrong? But yes, I see a flanged area of the bracket with a nut attached for some odd reason then.
that bolt and flange just hold the rubber fitting to the signal, the signal just pops in that hole, maybe they built it like that so if you ever did go down the signal would just pop out and not tear your farring apart?? either way the farring is gonna get some sort of damage!.....stone if you have your ram air ducts off, reach down on the inside of the bodywork and squeeze the rubber fitting that comes through the bodywork and with your other hand gently pull out the signal, dont forget to disconnect the wires first, but leave yourself enough room to hook up your new ones, i just used a butt connector and wired up the new ones, i bought a pair of the flushmount off e bay

they worked pretty good because they tightened from the inside, plus my bike is black and they came in a smoke lens so they matched pretty good....hope this helps....bigbrew
