Probably because the current ZZR is the same bike as the 00-02 ZX6R... In fact, the owners manual says ZX6 on the front...

Yeah... funny, isn't it? How they can call the same "ZX-6R" that won the AMA Championship in 2000 a "Sport Touring" bike today just by changing the color and adding a few stickers... Well, okay, so the bikes on the street aren't the same as those on the track... but it's about as close as any of us will get... It's a ZX600-J4, meaning it's a ZX600, same family as all the Ninja ZX6's, J series, 4th year they made it (2000, 2001, 2002, and then 2005 as the ZZR)
