I am 50, and am seriously considering the KLX. Want to get the 15 year old boy a trail bike too. I don't have a need for speed at the moment. How about it, lets hear from the 50 and over crowd, if there are any.

Slip, my question, is any owner under 40? and at 15, your boy would be in heaven with a KLX250S. He'll have his license soon.

just turned 47 this past Sat. .... swim a couple of miles a week and do a section of the AT monthly...trying to defeat the process so inevitable to us all.....i didnt have need for speed and accept the klx as is, basically I use a motorcycle when section hiking, parking the small RV on one end of the trail and the bike on the other end.....though some mods are inevitable BECAUSE of the influence of this group

I'm 63 -- and still ripping around on modded bikes.
I used to ride with Fred Flintstone!
It' seems funny when you young guys in your 40's and 50's say you're "getting old"!
You ain't seen nuthin' yet.....
PS -- I still do some racing (gasp!), when challenged by a kid -- can't resist.
Once a racer, it stays in your blood forever.
The stories I could tell....

Forgot to add -- after each ride, the nurse helps me off the bike, and onto my walker, which is all titanium, and has mag wheels and an aftermarket pipe....lol

Remember Your Only as Old as You Feel / Act............
I'm pushin 47 and still do the dirt biking thing along with snowbaording , wakeboarding and still barefooting with the best of them, and plan to be doing this for many years to come.

OH Ya, back to the original question (we get so side tracked on this forum) I love the KLX 250S !!!!

Olddualsporter, Where can I get one of those cool walkers, because in the future i am going to need one too!!! LOL. My body feels like its 70 years old and my brain feels like its 18 I'm only 36. LOL...I guess all the years of riding are taking its toll on me , but like you said riding is in the blood!!! I too find it hard to refuse a good challenge recently someone said that i could not climb a really big hill with this bike that it would not make it but I will tell you what I am going to try like hell to get up it!! ( have to wait until the snow melts) Love this bike!!
