Well i wrecked my 636 into a gaurd rail close to 100... No joke estimated speed was 90 according to the police.. also got a nice ticket but anyway here is the help i need..
I believe that the frame is bent... how do i tell for sure? it has some nice dents on the side but i don,t think that is a big deal but then again i do not know.

Buying a new frame has anyone done this? does it need to have papers or what? is there a vin on the engine?

I am interested in trying to buy a bike with a blown engine for an easy swap or one with ungodly miles haha anything cheap or i guess just starting off slow and rebuilding Do you guys know of any good websights or asalvage yard or something thathas good prices and that imaybe could finda bikelike thatlike that.

What is a 636 wrecked pretty bad totaled with about 8k miles worth?

Should i try to rebuild or sell and get a nice used one again?

Welcome to KF. Glad that you seem to be ok after the accident.
Engines have their own numbers/VIN. I am not sure on all of the legalities of DMV though.

Look on ebay for everything you need. I have a friend on there who is a salvage dealer (Adrenalix Inc) who has a lot of 636 parts. Where are you located? If you buy a new frame, it does not have numbers and you will have to get numbers put on/ assigned. You can get a salvage titled frame or a clear title used one but it's very expensive. How are the rest of your parts; Wheels, forks, subframe etc? You can always part your's out and use the money to buy another used one. The 05-06636 are very popular and usually go for as much as a used 07.

I have all the body work, head light, tail light, front blinkers for sale. The only body pieces that i am keeping are the tank and wind screen. Bascilly everything that you don't need for the track is coming off. The plastics are primer and reay to paint.Plus a box of extra stuff.The headlight has a small scratch on the right side. It is not cracked just scratched. I would be looking to get around 500 obo + shipping if you are interested. Let me know. Also i am glad to here your ok. A bike can be rebuild you can't...

 

Wha color is your bike? Are you sure the frame (Structurely) is bent? The alighnment etc?I have some Magma red parts.
