I just got these bulbs and never thought about the wattage being too high and melting wires and stuff. Anyone know ifthese would be okay in my 2007 zx6r?

no they won't melt them...what they do is they are more efficent meaning they cost more...this url is to show you the stock voltage and wattage in the stock bulb....

now the xenon bulb is better because it give out a higher wattage than it needs to work...it will still take only 55watts...the key word in the fine print is if you look at the output wattage versus the wattage it needs to work is different thus more efficent....

furthermore i have never heard of this bulb melting anything before....just make sure when you get them that they are the ones you need or want...

 

i read some things that said certain ones could get too hot and cause things to melt. and it looks like the stock bulbs are 55w and 65w but aren't the ones on that auction 90w and 100w?

 

i have heard the same thing. the bulb requiring the same wattage but putting out more light making more heat causing the light lenses or the mirrored backing to melt.

 

Those Xenon bulbs are okay as long as you stay with the same stockwattage. I use the same type60/55W Xenon bulbs in my Dual Headlight kits. They use the same wattage but are brighter. Get the 5K ones that put out a White light. The higher 8K plus ones start going blue & purple.
