who here has top-ended their bike?
I was watching some youtube and the recklessness kind of wore off on me. I found some two-lane blacktop, very little traffic, and was hell bent on seeing one-five-oh or so, but got chicken**** at 120 (hey, I got the bike 4 days ago and my last one was an EX500).
So who here has top ended on their ZX6R or other bike?
Before anyone says anything about being irresponsible, I think eating the road at 90mph on the freeway or fast-moving two-lane blacktop road is no more pleasant than eating it at 150...survival rate for either is minimal. I know people who block out their speedo's so it only goes up to 60mph and then the needle goes behind some eletrical tape or a fabricated cover because they don't want to know how fast they're going, and they consider 60mph and up official coffin-filling speed. But for the record I don't condone breaking the speed limit.

I had the throttle pinned on my 03 636 and saw 171 MPH (Indicated). I think it will go just a couple of MPH faster though. Have topped out the 05 yet but did see 155 quick without any problem.
i was on a 10 miles stretch the other day on my 06 636 and had it to 155 and the front end started lifting so i shut it down. but the fastest i have ever been is about 162 when i looked down, i went to pass a car and nothing, passed another and another and another and by the time i looked down i had to pull over i was shaking so bad lol
Saw 174 indicated on the speedo - which is probably in the low 160's. It was a loooonnng, slightly downhillstraight near the desert. Had it pinned, andwas still climbing very slowly - maybe would've gone2-3 points higher, but shut her down... 'cuz F#K!. After that,Irealized I won'tgo that fast again, swapped the sprockets for more useable power - started doing track days.Haven't been close to those speed on the street since.
On one wheel or two? J/K I was out in BFE South Dakota (kind of redundent) and had my in the 160s. Looked in my mirror to see the katana I was riding w/ and he was nowhere to be seen so I peeked at my speedo and just about gave myself a ticket... don't need/want to do that again. BTW I ride an 05 ZZR600. And why are bike speedos so far off?
