Default RE: valve adjusting

The Dealer never checks the valves at 600 miles. All they do is change the oil, filter, adjust & lube the chain, cables, check for loose stuff, coolant and it's out the door. Look at your owners manual. There's a service schedule in it.

my 03 getting close to 10,000 on the clock, you think it is about time to check them? does this require any special tools to do or will the service manual explain how to do it. i have tons of experience with cars as i have built a few engines for my t/a and camaro's, so i have the tools required for automotive engines. i just dont want to tear into it and find that i dont have the things i need to finish the project and not take any shortcuts, because this thing revs to 15,500rpm, and thats 8,500 rpm higher then the motors ive built in the past lol.

thanks
anthony

If you can do the car you will have no problem, you most likely have all the tools already. The service manual explains it well.

Depending on the dealer or repair shop you get it done at. $180 around here. You won't need it till 15K unless they start ticking loudly.
