Default Trouble With Frame Sliders

Hey Guys,

I am having an issue with some no cut frame sliders that I order. I have a 2005 ZX-6R. This is a link to the frame sliders that I got. http://store.58cycle.com/ProductDeta...+pol+nc+636+05 I really like them but I am having an issue finding a bolt that will be long enough to slide through the frame slider and back into the engine. Has anyone else had an issue with this?? If so where did you get your new bolts from?? Any help would be great. Euro turning signals and turning signal built into tail light went really well!! Looks awesome. I will post some picks soon.

Thanks In Advance

I got my sliders from them and it had everything with it. Don't know why your kit would't have the right bolts to replace the stock with....

i guess you could go to your local hardware store and find a bolt with matching thread in a longer size, right?

If you go the hardware store route, keep a couple things in mind. You won't need the same thread size, as long as you get a locking nut the same size as the OEM. I have vortex sliders, in my kit the bolt sizes are 100mm and 80 mm long. I believe they are 10 mm bolts. Probably the single most important thing to remember is to get a hardened steel or similiar bolt, so that if fate were to require you using them, they won't snap off on ya. Along with that, if you go with the no cut sliders you run that risk anyway. (I know that guys that have em, put their trust in em. I have seen the results of snapped sliders at my local shop)

Called 58 cycle today and they are shipping me the bolts. They should have been with the sliders. 58 was good to work with. They shipped them today and I should have them sometime this week. As far as the cut vs no cut. I have been riding for a while and have not yet put a bike down. I really have no personal experience with slider use. However, seems for every person that says the no cut are no good there is someone that swears up and down that the no cut is just as good as the cut. I really don't know what is right and what is not. Every fall is different so every outcome would be different. I will give the no cut a shot. If or maybe better yet when (I think sooner or later all of us will lay one down.) I put it down I will let you all know about my experience. I will let you know how it goes once I get the sliders.

You should rethink using billet sliders they look great but they don't slide. When down they will grip the pavement or concrete and snap like twigs. Nylon is the best material for slider. You only get colors no billet of course. JMO

Here’s a few pics of a 50 mph low side. Not to bad for damage considering what it would have been if there was no sliders. Bar end and clutch took a little scrape too [&o]

Note in picture # 4 the slider was shaved down about 1.5 inches.
