Your right spooknick, high speed riding should be kept for the track. I took mine up to speed here in Montana, and if you have ever been here before you know there are roads that go straight for miles with no turnes and no crossroads. In fact sometimes I can ride and not see anyone. After all that though it doesn't make it right or safe.

 

or go out to the plains near pueblo, colorado... wide open straight roads for miles!

155mph at near redline in 6th gear on the 7r (3 teeth up on the rear sprocket)
98mph not very close to redline in 5th gear on the cb350f
167mph tapped out on the 94cbrf2 before it was sold (that's the fastest I've been)

and, as a setup wrench i got to test every bike that went out of the shop from 99-02 FUN!
what i mean is... many of your bikes you bought new thinking they'd never been ridden hard, well, i got to them first

176 mph - stock - on the German autobahn - trying like hell to catch a BMW wagon...new exhaust, new air filter and a lighter bike...next week when the weather is a little better I'll go for another fast run...It's an '05 636

 

I hit 181mph on my bike, also went up 2 teeth in the rear....speedo speed is 181, but actuall speed according to my buddies GPS unit, is 163mph....still smokin'! thats 181 at 14000 rpm's, wasn't even at red line. held that speed for a little over a mile.

 

for a hole mile. JK bro Wish we could be in Germany like the other poster, could run 160+ all the time.

 

it's also great that the autobahn gas stations have 100+ octane at the pumps

 

and do not for get about the beer!
