I just bought an 05 Titanium 636 last month and can't be happier. The only issue I have is with the amount of heat the exhaust puts out. Has anyone tried to solve the heat problem with the exhaust? I was wondering if using some sort of exhaust wrap would do better than the stock heat shields.

I think you are talking about two different issues here. The stock exhaust system feels hot because of the cat. converter located in the collector (header pipe assemble). I have noticed my bike with the under seat exhaust can be hot at times (mainly when riding through traffic). The best way to rid your bike of exhaust heat would be going to an aftermarket full exhaust system. This would eliminate the cat. converter and also the exhaust valve in the undertail muffler. More flow equals less heat.

The theory of the heat wrap was to raise the exhaust temp. in the header pipes and thus improving flow. Was suppost to be good for 1-2 hp.
