hello i have a 01 zx600-e and i have changed the water temp sensor 21176-1054 and my gauge will only get to the first left [ bracket on the temp gauge and will not go any higher the rad fan comes on and off but temp reads low anyone know were i might look at ?

i have cleaned the ground and installed one from housing to frame.
i have grounded the + to ground and gauge goes to full.
i have took the sensor out and heated it with a heat gun and the gauge needle will rise up just like it should.

 

ok here is what my temps are.

at 198f the thermostat opened

at 205f the fan kicked on
and the temp gauge never goes past this
