Someone Knocked My Bike Over....Won't Start, Help.
I wonder if I could talk to her insurance company and find out what the limit on the price of repair causing a vehicel to be totalled is and see if they could simply give me a check for just under that and I'll take care of it myself? Save myself from having my bike totaled just because of some cracks and scrapes on the left side fairings.
I wouldn't call her insurance company at all. The first thing they will do is try to lower the claim and contact her and try to work something shady out. They know how to work the system and if you call them, it might look su****ious on your part. I would wait till they call you. IMO Who is she insured with anyway? Is it really her insurance or is it her parent's insurance?

Sounds good. We are actually insured with State Farm and whenmy husband laid his 2006 FJR 1300 down in October, they took care of him quite well. I have had StateFarm for about 10 years and I have never had a bad experience with them. I know people that have, but so far so good. Hopefully they will do right by you since their client caused thedamage to your bike. Have you already taken pictures of all of your damage? If not, do that as well.
Already took pictures. I had been insured with state farm for years and years on my carup until about 6 months ago too. They usually took care of me as well...so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
I wish ya the best man. Last fall my husband also had a 98 Suzuki Bandit which mysteriously ended up on the ground at a local Denny's here. Well, the mirror was broken, and the rear peg was broken among a few other small things. The biggest thing was the mirror being broken. No note, no sorry man, no nothing! Never figured out who did it, but I feel your pain. Keep us all posted on your progress. Again, have to say Good Lookin' Out to your neighbor!
registered or not...it is still your personal property that was damaged. you werent driving when it happend and even if you were she is still liable and you will just get ticketed for driving an unregistered vehicle.
all in all...you did good with getting an honest witness. she is already in the wrong and tried to hose you on the deal. dont cut her any slack man. get all the money to make the wrong the right. dont agree to let her go with $900

wow, that girl just dug herself a hole. Do what you have to do as far as the estimate, do not chat with her or State Farm. It is a time game. Good luck.
I agree with dragone! Do what you need to do for YOU. She f****d up your ride, not the other way around! If it weren't for the witness, she wouldn't have said a word to you. She would probably ask you what happened likeshe really cared while all along knowing she did it. There probably wasn't even a cousin involved i the 1st place! Now I'm getting mad [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]!!!! Maybe after this, she will take a defensive driving course so she doesn't do this to another person. What if you had been on the bike!!! Stupid broad!
