yea her left fork is leaking but it isn't cause of the drop. the drop shattered her coolant resevoir. I figure the front left shock is going bad, but how do I test that and when is it really have to be replaced?

well on a fork, if theres fluid present, its leaking. probley need a reseal. youll need to remove the fork tubes and bring them to a suspension shop. the test is, if you see and feel fluid. its bad. and do both, not just 1 side. look to be spending about 200.00 to get it done. parts and fluid and labor for most shops. i think i had a set resealed for 180.00.

if it is leaking, dont ride the bike, you can take a slow leak and blow out all the fluid onto the front brakes/tire, it could bind up, cause her to get buck wild and go over the bars.

just fix it.

It was easy changing seals with the air forks. I'd drain them while still on the bike and put the drain screw back, remove the circlip retainer, tie a rag around the seal & fork leg and pump them to about 90 psi. POP; out come the seals. Then you just slide the tubes out of the triple clamps and slide on new ones. No need to dis-assamble the forks. It was easy; about 30 min to 1 hour from start to finish.

My KZ750 has the air/hydraulic shocks. you can just put more air in them for a firmer ride!
