Default Paint

I need some ideas of places to find pain to match my 06 ZX6R Raw Flat Plasma Blue. I found touch up on ebay, but I need enough to paint a hugger. I also found this place http://www.cyclecolor.com/id26.htm but their charge $120.00 for a pint of their tri-mix. Any ideas?

IMHO stay away from it, unless you are painting the whole bike. The touch-up doesn't match in my experience.

i've seen lot of people paint the belly of their bikes.... and it looks great for the first few months.... then after awhile it starts getting all chipped up.... so unless you know of a guy that will do a great job and warranty it.... imo it's not worth it..... unless it's a show piece.... and how many of us actually have bikes that are show pieces.... we like to show our bikes off by riding them....

Cool, ColorRite seams to be the cheapest. It doesn't need it to matach perfectly, but I would like to get as close as I can. I plan on painting my rear hugger, at least part of it. But yea I know it's all just for looks but I'm hopeing I'll get at least another 5 horses out of her.

The problem with paint adhesion on ABS plastic is that most people do not prep the plastic correctly. First the plastic must be cleaned of all wax, oils, dirt etc. A light scuffing with either 400 grit sandpaper or an abrasive pad will allow the paint to grab onto something. The next step is very important, a plastic adhesion promoter needs to be sprayed on the bare plastic and then it can be coated with a primer or color coat and then topped with the clear coat. Also a flex additive may help with the chips (this is what is added to car bumper paint so the paint wont crack) The factory does not use any primer, found this out when I was doing the body repair on my Green 636. Paint is very expensive, I paid $180.00 for a pint of Kawi Green, reducer, clear and hardener from my local body supply store and this was with a discount. Crashing is expensive?
