Owner's manual/service manuals
Sorry for 2 quick posts in a row, but I was wondering if anybody knows of a place where I can get an owner's manual for a '96 ZX-6R (free PDF, perhaps?) as well as a cheap place to buy a full service manual for the bike. Is there a place that sells them online for cheaper than I could get it at a Kawasaki shop?
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: Owner's manual/service manuals
if it would have been for the 05 or 06 zx6r i could have burned you a copy of mine. but as for your year i'm not to sure where to pick it up. try a shop that does parts for bikes maybe they have a deal on it.

Ebay has them cheap for instant download or CD in the mail. You can also check with www.Kawasaki.comin the owner info section and look at the parts diagram. It will show all the arts & it's assembly order.

Does the brand of motor oil you choose matter a lot? In getting my new bike, I wanted to replace the fluids (oil, coolant, etc.) to keep my own maintenance record, but I don't know if "SAE 10w40" is all I need to know when choosing an oil, for instance. What brands of motor oil, coolant, etc. are regarded as high quality (but not TOO expensive) and can I get them at normal auto parts places, or are they specialty? Thanks for any insight.
P.S. I saw a thread of people talking about full synthetic vs. other types of motor oil....is this sort of thing clearly indicated on a quart of oil, or do I have to just know what I am talking about?

Any Synthetic Motorcycle oillike Motul, Repsol and other available at Cycle shops/ dealerswill be good to use in your bike. Even Mobil 1, Valvoline Synthetic, and car oils. Just keep it 10w40. They are markedif it's Synthetic. Some are marked Synthetic Blend (Half Synthetic/ half petroleum based)

I'm running full respol race syntic oil in mine. it helps out the bike. I'm running 10w 50 in mine just because it gets really hot here and that way i know the oil won't break down as fast.

Yeah, 10W50 is good in the reall hot climates like Arizona, New Mexico,Texas and other Hot states/ areas. I have some Repsol 10W50I got at the Cycle Gear sale that I plan to run this summer.
