Default noisey motor, lower end slop, any ideas???

Hello, Just bought a zx6 1994 ninja.Quiets up when given gas. It has 14,500 miles and runs great.

Update: The slop sounds like it is comming from the lower end. It goes away when reved...RPM's are up and at idle it sounds sloppy. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Allen

Default RE: noisey motor, what is shim-and-bucket

Actually the Shim & Bucket is harder to adjust because you have to remove the cams to change the Shims which sit on top of the valves and the Bucket covers over the shim. The cam lobes push on the bucket to open the valves. The noise you're hearing could be your cam chain which is why it goes away when you rev the engine. Either way, it's time for a valve adjustment.
