+1 on the $hitty roads in PA I was born there and used to make 4-6 trips a yr to visit my grandmother... Thats why I love NH... No helmet law and voted best roads by truckers in the USA!!!!

There's no helmet law here for the last few years. Always were one anyway. I passed two guys riding sport bikes last week without them on a four lane highway. He pulled a nice hello wheelie as he rode by. Don't want to think about what would happen to his mellon if he flipped it!

 

It's awesome riding w/o helmet, it's very nice. I do usually ride with it on the highway. And to my credit I don't really ride hard and fast. Usually keep it under 80mph all the time. Rarely take her above 100...

And I've grown up not wearing helmets and around my parents who haven't ever worn helmets...It's just a way of life for me now...

 

If your headhits the ground at 30 MPH, you'll be dead or a vegetable. Broccoli or cabbage; your choice. I went to the pharmacy today; it's a couple of blocks away, and before I left, I was thinking it would be nice to ride there without my helmet, just sunglasses. I'm only going to go 35-40 mph & only 5 minutes or less. I couldn't do it.So I puton my helmet, jacket &gloves and went for a longer ride much faster and felt safer. I hadn't ridden in over 2 weeks. Felt good and I felt better that I had my gear on.

 

wow, some nice top end runs showing. Although I wanted a 6r for this year, that did not happen. My 1990 zx7 only does 156mph in 5th. radared at sea level.

 

I know what you mean speed. I wear shorts for work but always have carpenter pants over them to and from work. ( only 15 minutes away on back roads ) I actually feel much safer in my leather pants and would rather have them on. But hey, too each his own.

 

I have yet to hold mine wide open for the maximum top speed reading. 163 was the last indicated w/o the speedo healer.Gotta find a nice stretch of road that is safe. Got too spoiled on the racetrack not having to worry about coyotes, rabbits, or whatever else in my path. i went for a little ride earlier and an SUV pulled out in the way. If I was going faster and would have went around the SUV, I would have hit the big German Sheperdon the other side ofit.2 obstacles within a couple of feet.
