Hi Guys, great forums...and some damn sweet bike pics and info posted here. [sm=gears.gif]

About a month ago I picked up a starter bike after about 10 years of not riding (I'm 28), altho she is an oldy...its in good cosmetic and mechanical shape, and I am having a blast on it.

I figured some of guys may have once owned one, and could perhaps let me know if any other year fairings would fit....or just any small custom I could do.....or just any upgrades in exhaust, lights, etc.

The only thing I have did since MY purchase of it is add a PIAA H4 headlight.

My bike is '85 Ninja 600R (ZX600a):

Welcome to the forums Nukfutz! Very nice looking bike! I like the color scheme on it. Glad to hear that you're having fun with it!

 

WOW sweet bike. You and i are the same age, so guess you really didnt realize that Kaw made a bike that nice in 85. Damn that color scheme would pass todays standards. Make sure you enjoy that bike as long as you can. And welcome back to the biker world.


As for the fairings, unless you have to change it I would leave it as is. It looks sweet. Maybe change the exhaust or something like that. But not the body!!! Nothing wrong with the classic Kaw look!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gotrice - I remember having pictures ripped out of magazines taped to my bedroom wall when I was 10 years old...I seem to remember it being a zx11...but it may very well have been this one...kinda sad really when I think about how old it is I like it, but when rides like yours pull up beside me...I blush in embarrasment inside my helmet and drool drips from mouth in envy [:-]

Maybe I will look into some exhausts...any reqs? Muzzy? Yosh? Personally, I like a nice loud pipe!

I am sooo not upto par on this stuff. Give me some time to read these forums[8D].

embarrasment [sm=WTFsgign.gif] LOL I remember when my buddies and i first got our bikes back when we were about 19. They all got these big *** bad bikes and heres me with a 250 ninja with about 12k on it and no fairings. Not one person (other than me) gave a **** what my bike was or looked like as long as it was a bike. Dude really That bike should bring you no embarrasment as long as you love to ride. Hell my current bike still gets ripped on. some people think my widow stickers are gay. Hell i even got told about 2 dinosaur stickers on it. My 4 yr old wanted to add his touch. I really dont give a **** what they think-

Basiclly all im saying is dont try to please everyone else, just ride and enjoy.

If your ever in PA look me up Ill gladly ride with you. Of course i may have to take your bike for a spin.

As for the exhaust-Muzzy is a great choice for a Kaw. I like Scorpion and its pretty cheap

Thanks! And like remo and gotrice said, make your bike what you want it to be. No need to impress anyone else (when I bought my bike, it didn't have a lower fairing on it, that is fine by me, at least it looks different from everyone else!).

To be completly honest, I'd rather have your bike than one of the brand new bikes (no offence guys! they are nice looking!). It is different and not something that is seen every day, but then again, that is me, I like to be different! Keep us posted on what you do with your bike.

 

Hey, i don't see anything wrong with the bike myself. Looks real good. I would leave it just like it is.
