Default Need HELP!!!

Ok guys and gals I haven't been on here in a long time, but I know that someone here can help me or a least point me in the right direction. Here is the story. I was out riding with some friends this weekend and my bike a 05' ZX6r 636 starts spiting and sputering going down the road like it was running out of gas or something. I cranked back on the gas and nothing happens then it seems like it loads up with fuel and back fires. So I stopped and started the bike up again and it idles just fine. Give it gas and it starts the whole process over again so I let it sit awhile. Started it up again and it was just fine for about half an hour. It gags on itself some more back fires a little then goes straight to idle. I pulled in the clutch in to cost off the road and it cuts off. I stopped and it started right back up. No FI light comes on or nothing. I'm not to mechanicly inclined, but could it be a throttle position sinsor. Has this happened to anyone else?

PLEASE HELP!!!

Happened to me, but typically when I was out of gas, or had carb problems. Check your fuel pressure, fuel filter, air filter, vacuum lines, and try some FI cleaner in the tank. Good luck, and welcome back!

Default Alittle up date

Thanks for the sugestions. I have checked and rechecked all fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel filter, wire connection. Everything was ok, but after talking with 3 different local shops the all pointed me to the pulsing coil which is at the end of the crank. Its like the crankshaft sensor on a car. I took the cover off the right side of the bike and checked it out. Its a $50 part if you know the right people, which is cheaper than checking for any codes. So its on order and should be here monday. I'll let yall know if it works.

I'm not up on my 05's but the ecu should have a self diagnosis to check for most simple codes, check your manual and see if there is a diagnostic mode. Your manual should also tell you how to check the coil and see if its bad before you order the part. Let us know how it goes.
