So, here's the update. I bought a new Bridgestone Battlax and had it installed today. I kept the old one as a keepsake. Not that I don't appreciate everyone's opinions on aftermarket tires, but after doing my research, the Battlax is a reliable high mileage tire with some of the best wet traction you can get. It may not stick as well as some of the other, but I leave my hard riding for the straight-aways anyway. The old tire is now mounted on my wall as a reminder that life's a bitch. I'm going to get it professionaly patched from the inside when I get a chance. The idea behind it was this: right now, I have the money to afford a new tire. If something happens to my new tire, I may not have the funds for another, so this will be my backup.

That is a good plan.

Running a patched tire or a plug does void the spped rating on the tire. I have never seen a MC tire blow out from this, but I have seen numerous car tires blow from plug kits, and patches, from sustained high speed driving.

Better safe than sorry I always go with.

I ran 2 plugs in a 208 for about 2500 miles awhile back.
No problems.

I got a plug in my tire at the beginning of the summer and got it plugged, and in june I found another nail in my tire while I was pulled over by the cops(not a good night) I had it plugged to and they have worked out fine but I will be getting some Pilot Powers before next year and get rid of the stock tires.
