Default moving the rear resavoir on a 06 636?

has anyone relocated the rear break resavoir to another place to clean up the tail any? is there a kit out there that would do it? i know that it has to be higher than the caliper but i was wondering if anyone has found a place to put it.

You will need some good tubing that can hold up to the brake fluid and also heat from the exhaust. Maybe a car race shop may have someor some brembo brake hose will work. You might have to also fabricate a bracket to secure the resevoir to, or if you use a hose long enough, you can eliminate the rear brake resevoir all together. Just cap the hose so no air or moisture can enter. It's a racebike trick.

I just installed some rearsets on my bike this evening and find that I now have to move the brave reservior due to the line being kinked. I plan on fabricating a bracket to move it up and back. If you want, I can post some pics when completed.

I've seen some customs that the builders just ran a long piece of brake hose. The guy used a long plasticplug with clamps to secure it.

This is a pic of my track bike but you could do the same and use a shorter tube and cleaner of course. You will still have plenty of back brake, something we do not really need anyway.

Just make sure not to pressurize the fluid in the hose when you cap it or the brakes will drag slightly. You can also bleed them to remove any pressure. That is what the rubber diaphram is there for in the stock resevoir; allows for the expansion & contraction of the fluid/ airpressure in the resevoir due to temperature.

If you look you will see the level in the hose is about 1/2 the rest is air and the cap is not a 100 % seal , Ifthe pressure builds up do to the temperature or heat from the exhaust it just leaks out.

Notstock, what are you using for the cap? Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air so you may want to seal that up better.
