I was told by the people at the kawasaki dealership that in an 03 636 the stock air filter actually preforms better than a K&N. Is there any truth to this? As of right now I just have an SBK(leovince) high mount exhaust and I'm going to get a -1+2 sprocket and520 chain and quite possibly a powercommanderIII. Just wondering if I should invest in the K&N. Thanks for the help.

i would go with the power commander and the K&N filter. On a stock bike the factory would work better but with the exhaust and powercommander the K&N would be better. If you look at dynojet website most of their aplications for the maps are setup for an after market airfilter. I may be wrong. Let me know if I am anybody.....

 

they do have maps just for a slip on but i dont know if they have one for what he has.

 

I just checked on the dynojet website and they don't have a map with an SBK\LeoVince exhaust[:@] the closest they have is a european model with the full SBK\LeoVince exhaust. So I guess it would be a nice couple hundred bucks todo it. well thats cheaper than getting a newexhaust. Thanks to all...

I have on in my 06 with a micron slip on and while I didn't notice a difference, I don't think it is a bad investment.

 

I've got the Leo Vince w/ power commanderIII, and a K&N....it works great!

 

Just e-mail the techs at dyno jet and they will tell you what map will work best.
