The exhaust valve closes part way over 12 or 13,000 rpms and up to reduce exhaust noise. The jumper mod just kills the signal from the ECU to the exhaust valve ONLY at that rpm limit. It still works at lower rpms just like it is supposed to. It will be a little louder at high rpms with this mod but it makes sense. There is no way the engine is going to go boom just by not having the exhaust valve partial close at high rpms.
I might do it once the bike is broken in. I'm still at 20 miles and the way this winter is going it will be a while.

Just remember that this only controls the stock exhaust valve after 12K, guys who put slip-ons or full exhausts have no exhaust valve to control anymore.

just had a thought.... i know, i know thats pretty amazing for me, i know... but anyway, what happens if, lets say i disable the exhaust valve and keep it in an open position.... does that harm anything? i mean the only thing for that valve is to reduce noise right?

No it also increases compression at low speed so you have all that power. It will give you top end but you will be sacrificing the low and mid a little. Its kind of like getting headers but you still have the stock pipe so there is still restriction in your exhaust. If you do it and have a slipon you will probably be running lean and could cause damage to the engine.

so why arent aftermarket slipons getting 10+hp? they remove the valve so it should be the same effect.
