All your gear should fit very snug. Like posted before it needs to stay put and keep the armor in the right places if you go down. Go to the bike shop and start trying them on.

 

I'm 6'1 190 lbs with an athletic build, my penguin jacket size is 43/44 long... I wear an alpinstars jacket and it is an XL

Do like is mentioned, go to a bike shop and try different brands sizes on.... I found my venom jacket online, but went to a local shop and tried on alpinestars to see what size I needed...

 

I second that on trying them on. Go to local shops and try on different brands. Then you can find deals online. We got my Alpinestars Dyno jacket on Ebay for I think around 100.00. If you buy it new it is somehere around 350-400.00. It does not even look like it has been worn. And just like clothes different brands fit totally different.

 

cool thanks for all the help guys... i actually went into the local bike shop today to try different ones on like u guys said.... i got my different sizes and now ill start lookin online.... thanks again for all the help!!

 

One other thing. Sizes don't always run true to each brand of jacket. What a 46 or 48 in one brand my fit different in another brand.
