You should still invest in a steering damper; the 03-04's need them.

I could have been the gust of wind that did that. If you had a really firm grip on the bike and you were fighting the wind it might make the bike do that.

On a setup ride, a twitch is no biggey if you are comfy on the ride. Rider feedback on the bars is a key thing to remember. In fact, I am ready to toss my steering damper in the parts bin.
I was going to get one for mine, cause alot of peps told me the 04-05 need them... I have yet to get tank slap and had it up in the 3digit zone with no probs and came down from several wheelies with it slighty turned and still no "ts" just a quick snap to straight again.

I only had mild tank slap once. I was hard on it getting on the freeway and there was some uneven pavment a head and i got a little bit but the bike setteled back down.

It was very minor only lasted a second or so. I have yet to really have a tank slaper. Ive heard that if you get a bad one its a good idea to lay on the gas to take weight off the front and try and strighten your self out. is that true?

i let off the gas and tap the back brakes. if your wobbleing and hit the gas youll just wreck.
