You can try it to see if you like it and always go back to stock. Do you have a jetkit for the 36's? If not, get one; you'll love it!

i'm just trying to get the thing to be reliable right now.

i'm currently waiting for my new one-way starter gear to arrive... i was having starting trouble and discovered my gear was missing 6 teeth... was not a happy day.

haven't gotten to the carbs yet - but the petcock is rebuilt and working properly.

had a LOT of rust in the old tank so the float valve probably had a spec of rust keeping it open.

personnally, I would keep the 36mm carbs and fine tune them. Keep that velocity up.

thats what i've decided to do - i really don't want to lose the fine throttle response for a little more potential top end

Put an inline fuel filter when you put everything back together.

Muraitic Acid in the tank will remove all the rust. Try a 50/50 acid/ water solution and slosh it in there. Rinse it quickly with water, drain andspray with WD40 to prevent flash rusting. Set it out in the sun to dry the remaining water completely.

it has an inline filter already
and i replaced the tank anyways since it had a big dent from previous owner.
