Default Engine oil light

Hi, I just did an oil change on my 06 636. I was wondering if you could help me. For those of you with an 06 636 , does your engine oil light come on when you have the key turned to on? Mine does and stays on untill I start up the motorcycle then it goes off. I put the correct amount of oil in and have checked the reading on the oil tank to see the engine oil level and its between the lines. Im just being safe...

Yes it should stay on until you start your bike. It is an oil pressure light. It comes on when you have no oil pressure. When your key is on, engine off, you have no oil pressure due to the fact that your bike is not running. As soon as you start your bike your oil pump builds pressure and the light goes off.

Another words everything is normal.
