Im going to go with the "when the pegs feelers are worn."
Those feelers are the first thing to leave the ride even before the reflectors! They tend to catch grooves in the pavement. Not that I ride over 80% on the roads, but it is a factor.

Well, I went out and rode some curves but nothing crazy. I have kept my RPM's below 6k because im still breaking the thing in. I just cant get over how much different the thing is compared to My 2001 929 and the 2002 GSXR1000. This thing just flip flops like nobodys business. I love it. I personaly think its more dangerous but that just me. Im going to try to make it out to the next track event at the california speedway.
What kind of tires are you guys running on the street?

I'm still running the stock BT014's and love em! They are good on the track too! I think Bridgestone makes the best tires and they prove it in MotoGP. All that technology trickles down to us. They are the only company that could make a tire that would hold up to the New Hayabusa & ZX14. Other good street/ trackday tires are the Bridgestone BT015's,Dunlop Qualifiers and Michelin 2CT's.

hmm, motogp and tires for normal track days and street are a different breed. In the past that is. Think it takes more ballz to try those tires than others.

The BT's are great. I pushed them at the trackday and they stuck like glue. They drifted when the track was cold but still felt confident. I see the magazine testers lean them all the way over, dragging pegs and knees so they're good enough for me on the street & trackday. I used to race with Don Canet and Kent Kunitsugu in the AFM before they started working/ writingfor SportRider.

the stock bt arent that bad, i had no chicken strips on my first set and tore the **** out of them getting my moneys worth. i was shocked at the cornering ability for being stock tires. now, going from bt's to the pilot powers, night and day difference. for canyons in cali, i wont ride on anything but the pilot powers but around town and leasure riding with the woman on the back buying a second set of the stock stones was worth it in my book.

my past experience with stones is only having these on my 636 and a old associate had a set on his cbr and they were just as hard as the hondas seat

That's why they last longer. I agree with the Honda seats. My F4i's was as stiff as a board. The new bikes are still like that. Everyone complains but they haven't changed.
