Any extra weight removed is HP gained. Some people say they gained a couple of HP by removing the smog stuff. The race kit manual shows what &how to do it.

The smog stuff is only on Cali models. If your bike pops on decel,it's probably running slightly lean especially on decel because the throttle is fully closed but the engine is still sucking in lots of air due to the higher RPM. Mine stated doing it after I put the Race Kit ECU. Try a different map or use the buttons on the PCIII to richen it a little.
