i blocked off my 450X. not sure i will do it for my 636. that thing is plenty fast enough for me now. need to get off my lazy butt and put the pazzo levers on so i dont hear that buzz at 10k

 

I'm sure it makes a difference in power because the Race Kit manualrecommends the removal of the smog stuff & installation of the block-off plates.

 

where do i get the block off plates ? mine pops like a somebitch in every aspect, with the pc on, stock filter, k&n stock pipe. annoying, thats why i never slow down.

 

Mine makes a soft poping sound. If some one is riding behind me They can't even hear it just the person riding the bike. Its kind of like the same kind of poping an SRT-4 makes. I think its kind of cool.

 

So is this on all bikes or just the Cali models. Mine does a lot of poping on decel. I am in Florida.

 

All the bikes have the KLEEN Air vales on top of their valve covers. I think Muzzy makes the block off plates. There are others that make them too but I can't think of them right now. Do a search.

 

i like the pop too. anything to keep the cagers looking and remembering i am there

 

SMOG CAN BE REMOVED ALMOST FOR FREE , THE COVERS ON TOP OF VALVE COVER ARE REMOVED AND CAN BE SEALED OFF WIHT QUICKSTEEL AND THE CHARCOAL CAN REMOVED AS WELL PLUG THE LINES GOING INTO IT THAT ARE OF VACUME ONLY, LEAVE ON THE FUEL/FUME SEPARATOR COMING OUT OF THE CALIFORNIA TANK . I LOOKED AT KAWASAKIS RACE BIKE.

 

Its easy to look, well on my 07 at least. If you take off the left side fairing you will see the canister and smog pump. I dont know if they are there on all the years.

 

The smog stuff is only on Cali models. If your bike pops on decel,it's probably running slightly lean especially on decel because the throttle is fully closed but the engine is still sucking in lots of air due to the higher RPM. Mine stated doing it after I put the Race Kit ECU. Try a different map or use the buttons on the PCIII to richen it a little.
