brake lever freeplay
i just installed a pair of nissin calipers on my o6 zx6r 636 that i scrapped off an 07 6r, and changed the fluid in my brake lines. Im still using the stock lines. My question is, how much "play" or "travel" do yall have in the lever before you feel the brakes engage?
the reason i ask is i dont remember exactly how much play i had before i started modding the brakes. and im feeling some now, prolly about a quarter(1/4) of the length(when brake lever is adjusted farthest away from the handlebar) is soft, then I feel the braking, and its a solid, firm feel.
should there be a solid feel all throughout the travel of the brake lever? if so what could be wrong with my setup?
thnx in advance for input.

that sounds normal. the feeling should be kinda linear, but not.. ya know..
being a little squishy right at initial engagement is fine, as all you're doing is building up pressure (exponentially) and flexing the line. one line flex ceases, then the pressure is more directly applied to the piston in the brake calipers..
are there bore variances in the calipers? if so, then you might wanna look at upgrading and bumping the bore size up on the master cylinder..
other than that, (and assuming theres no air at all in the lines), it sounds normal.
