Default 95 zx6r float heights

g'day everyone,

well ive been having problems with my 6. over fueling after pipe being fitted. doesnt make sense but anyway. i set the float levels to 19mm from 16mm with the float needle touching but not compressed which is the lower limt in the specs.
factory pro say that the needle should be compressed when measuring the float height.

does anyone have any advice with this?

regards
gavin

to set float.

1. remove carbs
2. drain all fuel
3. place carb upside down and remove float bowl
4. set tabs on floats so that it is level with the carb
5. replace bowl and install floats

that is the easiest way and is recommended by most.

in order to fix the over fuel you need to re-jet the carbs not mess with the floats. i dont know what they were talking about

thanks for reply.
i have no problem adjusting float levels themselves but just thought its odd that its still over fuelling in 5500-6500 rpm range even with less then standard jetting 145 outside and 147.5 in middle. no needle shims and 19mm float heights

when does it over fuel? low idle or hard hit?

what does the pipe manufacture recommend jetting it at after a pipe?

rejetting on a carb engine is like a powercommander on a fi engine. most of us have to do it after a pipe because it flows more and inturn makes the bike run richer

what is the color of the exhaust on the tip?
black=rich
chocolate/dark chocolate= perfect/ ish lol
light chocolate/white= lean

How do you know that your ride is "over fueling in the 5500-6500rpm range?" This a 1st gear hard on the throttle estimate?
