Yes, my 250cc single KLX was blown around the Interstate some. A little smoother twin engine in a 250 Ninja that doesn't steer so fast at speed would be nice.

I'd still get blown around some but, I'm not nearly as high on a street bike as the enduro.

These reasons and others are what has me looking at a 600cc and larger street rides. The ZX-6R is a little extreme for what I want but, the sport tourers are just more motorcycle then I want.

I like the ZZR-600 but, the ZX-6R has better suspension and I really want the fuel injection. ZZR-600 and ZX-6R insurance rates are the same so, I'd rather do a few a mods the ZX-6R and keep the Showa big piston fork and fuel injection. Also, I can get a 2009 Ninja ZX-6R OTD for $6700 and can't come close to that on the ZZR-600's I have looked at.

Is $6700 (plus a few stray dollars - ~$20 for some weird local tax) OTD minus tags and registration a good price for a NEW 2009 Ninja ZX-6R? They have one black model still in the crate but, aren't the green ones faster ..... The green on is sitting on the showroom floor.

That sounds good to me. I am just not sure on the required mods to fit your needs though.

Why don't you look at the Versys, 650r or the er6n?

I've ridden the Versys and the 650r and both are good bikes

No naked bikes ....

The engine on the Versys is more to my liking than the Ninja (650) but, the suspensions on both are not what I want. The ZX-6R has the suspension and brakes I want. If the ZX-6R was offered in the ZZR format, I'd be buying one of those. Instead, I'll be modding one myself ... With the current rebates, I'll have some money to help pay for the ZZR'ish mods ...

Is $600 a good price for the 3 year extended warranty (4 years total)? Also, since the Ninja is a high performance ride is it really worth it? So far, my KLX-250S hasn't need anything but routine upkeep but it is a very forgiving ride. THANKS!
