I have been reading the magazine articles about the 07 ZX6R and it's similar in power & performance to the R6. I think you'd be better off with a new 06 636. Much better streetbike; more useable midrange power especially if you ride double. I read that it doesn't really have much midrange and you have to wind it up a bit past 8K rpm to feel any power. I handles great for racing. Sport rider did a 600 cc shootout and the Honda CBR was first, Suzuki 2nd, Kawasaki 3rd & Yamaha last just because oflack of useable midrange power.

it depends on what your going to do with the bike. are you going to be going to track days alot or are you just going to be using it for the street. racing i would go for the 07 but for street i would go for the 06. my 2c

I've recently traded in my 01' ZX6R for an 07' and it may have been a mistake... the bike flys in the high mid and upper rpms, but lower rpms this thing blows.... my buddies got an 01' and he kills me from 0-60 then i'll pass him... and also my 01' would pull the front right up with just a twist of the throttle and i could ride wheelies all day with it... my 07' will get the front tire off the ground if i get on it at about 8 or 9000rpm and it only will bring it up about a foot then it goes right back down... and i love my wheelies... i've recently installed a two bro's carbon slip on and a powercommander but its been raining like hell and i havent had it out to see if it made a diffrence....

hmm, I like the suspension setup onany ride over wheelies. But I am sure that if you screw with your suspension to meet your expections, you will find your bliss in wheelies.

True. Also most middle weight racing classes will not allow a 636 to compete. So for the street, the 06 636 or if you're going to go racing full time, the 07 would be the choice if you're a Die-Hard Kawi man. The 07 CBR600RR is the bike to beat.

this is my first bike and i find myself starving for more power already. it is true the bike really wakes up at 8k and sometimes that takes a little while. its a great learner bike in the aspect it does this tho. i will just be trying to mod the the hell out of mine in quest of looking for more power already. they have quite a few suff out including the PC, airfilters, full exhausts, cams ect...the only problem i see to any of this is obviously there isnt a tune out for all of it yet. im gonna continue moding slowly untill im satisified and thats ushally never...HAHA...

It's true. The new ZX6R is the heaviest of the 600 out there. SportRider did a 600 shootout comparison of the 4 Japanese 600 and the Honda won. They are doing the same at the track. I think Kawasaki went after the R6 to try and beat it, which they did but Honda beat them all. The main disadvantages of the ZX6 was the extra weight & low end power.I guess it's time to go back to the drawing board. I can almost guarantee the Honda willNOT be the winner next year.
