Default 1998 zx6.. none R?

so im about to buy this bike... its a 1998 ninja zx6... no R though... i never heard of a none R zx... so i came home and got online and tryed everything to look for a zx6... but everything i found was a zx6r... except 1 this guy is selling a bike on craigs list and it says its a 1998 zx6... no R... but he didnt put any pictures so i dont know if he just was to lazy to post the R or not.... so anyways im trying to figure out if its a zx6r or if theres a such thing as a zx6... and as far as looks go... the bike i might buy its seat is all one peice... when i looked at pictures of a 1998 zx6r online i see the seats are 2 peice. but the guy said he just redid the seat so im not sure if he made it one peice or not... so can someone tell me if im buying a zx6 or a zx6r or if theres any diffrence....

also the guy wants 800 for it... it has 18k miles and the carbs were just rebuilt new tires new breaks new clutch and new clutch line... and new paint... so is that a good deal??? lol i figured it is...

there was just zx6's for a while, i dont think they make them any more. they are renamed as the ZZR. but a buddy of mine had a zx6 98 i think and it had a one piece seat to. i know they are out there, but if you can find a 1995 zx6r, you will be more happy with that. the style is 10 times better even though it is older. or a 99 zx6r they are going for alittle over 2k on ebay i think

however 800 is almost too go of a deal even if the engine is shot. rebuild it for 200-300 and you have a strong running bike fro hlaf of an R

and welcome to the forums. hope you stick around after you buy it

but anyways yea i did more research after i posted this and found a 1997 zx6 but still cant find a 98... although when i looked at the bike i looked under the seat and saw the year said 1998 so im guessing it was made in 97 but released in 98? anyways yea i wish i could get a better looking bike but i have child support and all my friends ride nice *** bikes and ive been waiting since i was a kid to ride... so anything for 800 is mine... thanks for the help though...

i got my first bike 1995 zx6r-E paid 800 bucks and some old rims i had laying around. nice nice bike and it would keep up with if not slightly pull ahead of my friends 2003 zx6RR.

thanks for the props on the bike man, i have put alot of blood sweat and time into her and i have sacraficed alot for it. but ill never look back.

do know about the credit but kawi is doing a holiday promo and it makes the payments at 80 bucks a month. and i know you can find a new 05 still on the floor somewhere for next to nothing for a new bike
