06 ZX6R TPS Help Plz
I'm replacing myTPS sensor because it has crapped out. It blinked a 62 on the self diagnostics and everything else i've read about my bike not going past 8 grand and bad full throttle response tell my its my TPS. The parts diagrams show a throttle positioning sensor sub and main, which one do i buy? And if anyone can provide directions on replacing it and adjusting it with the correct voltage readings, that would be very helpfull. Thank you in adavance for your time.

I don't think that you can buy them seperate. I believe it comes with the whole Throttle body assembly.Check with your dealer; it may be under warranty. I have read of 05-06 ZX6R owners having problems with the TPS sensors. Kawasaki knows about it. This was discussed here a while back.

Already have checked, he can order either, they are both $127. I'm guessing its the main, but i'd like to be sure. My warrenty is up too, just last month. I've also read about some problems with the TPS, but once replaced, its fixed the problem for good, maby a revised part. I'd just like the directions for replacing it before i start tearing into it, some one else made it seem easier than i'm thinking. The Haynes and Chiltons aren't out yet, and the manufacture shop manual is alot more exspensive. If anyones done it, or has directions, it would be much appreciated.

I broke my tps sensor cause it was making my top butterfly valves stick closed. I found out my tps sensor is 129$ cause it's older. oops. Anyway, all you have to do is take off your gas tank, air box, and if your bike is like mine you'll need the little allen wrench that came in your tool bag to loosen up two screws that hold the bottom of your intake throttle bodies to the intake ports of your bike. There should only be one sensor that attatches below you intake throttle bodies to the cylinder head. This sensor is the only one preventing you from pulling the throttle bodiesoff of the rubber perch. After that all you need is a star head screw driver to loosen up the adjustment screw on your tps sensor and it simply unplugs. (Sub tps sensor) I hope I helped.
