i've got the 07' man and when i ran a 636 he smashed me up to about 100mph... thats when my gets up the the rpms and i passed him at about 115 and kept pulling up to about 150, that was when we were stock for stock
he must of let off then because the 07 6r puts down less then 100 rwhp, read all the magazine reviews ...
07 zx6r
Peak HP: 97.7 @ 12,800 rpm
Peak Torque: 42.1 lb-ft @ 11,500 rpm
1/4-mile: 10.77 @ 131.8 mph
same magazine on the 06 shootout..
06 636
Peak HP: 107.7 @ 13,100 rpm
Peak Torque: 46.4 lb-ft @ 11,200 rpm
1/4-mile: 10.43 @ 137.3 mph

The 07 is more aerodynamic and even though it doesn't have the HP, it is sleeker through the air athigher speeds than the 06 636. The 05 was the same (more aerodynamic)against the 03-04 even though it was heavier. It take more HP to fight wind resistance if thebike isn't as aerodynamic as the other bike. One magazine article stated that the extra "Sleekness" was worth 10 HP! And they have provenit on the racetracks.

im going on the 1/4 mile times and trap.... 10.4 is 10.4 and 10.7 is 10.7, one is obviously faster up to 131.8 mph and since these bikes top out shortly after that i stick with my guns and say that an 06 will out run a 07 from bottom to top.

the 07 6r is also a hog in the weight department and weighed in more than any of the other 600s, i feel that kawasaki dropped the ball on the 07 considering the competition.

They (07's)are winning on the track. The top speed is like 170 on the 07's. But for the street, the 636's are abetter choice. More CC's equals more bottom & midrange punch which is where their advantage is.

top speed is 154 on the 07. i believe that no 600cc makes it into the 160's (and im not talking about indicated, im talking about actual) i wanted an 07 bad because a bunch of my friends have 07s and talk about how great they are, i got to ride one and it felt very underpowered (this was my first time in awhile back on a 600 from a liter bike) i rode a 07 cbr 600rr and i was very impressed and was sold until no dealer would even negotiate, there is no way i am paying the same for a 07 cbr 600rr that i did for my 07 r1 so i went packing and came across a new 06 le that the dealer let me test out and i really liked the feel....needless to say i left the dealership with the 636 and it was only $8500 OTD! i love the 07s style dont get me wrong, the gauges are very very nice but it just didnt function for me, if you are about the street i would go with a 636 or daytona 675.

This is my first bike and most roads around here are straights
If it's your 1st bike, then who really gives a ****? You will not be able to ride either to any kind of limit anyways. Just get whichever is the "coolest" to YOU and get on with it.
