AGAIN TORQUE IS A BIG DEAL, NOT NESSACARILY THE FASTEST. I RIDE MOSTLY STREETS AND CURVEY BACKROADS,THE WEIGHT IS REAL CLOSE BUT KAWI DOWN SOME 20 TO 30 HP, AND HAS ONLY 50% OF THE 929'S TORQUE. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THE 636 WILL NOT HAVE ENOUGH TORQUE JUST LOOKING OPINIONS AND FIRST HAND EXPIRIENCES I GOT ABOUT A 50/50 RESPONSE ON HONDA FORUM. I JUST SCARED THAT THE 636 WILL NOT PULL DEEP DOWN LOW LIKE THE 9, AND THE WIFE SAYS THIS THE LAST ONE FOR YEARS TO COME. AAHHHHH.....I CAN'T SLEEP

 

This is a no brainer... and im not even saying this because i own an 05 zx6r... infact i havent even ridden my 05 zx6r (damn northern Canadian winters). FORGET THAT LOAFY OLD *** HONDA. Back in the day my 2001 gsx-r1000 would shred that 929 and i would still take the zx over the gsxr, hands down.
If you are telling the truth... the truth being that you like twisties and are not just a straight line hero... you willl enjoy the ninja SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH MORE. All the modern 600s are rediculous. I don't know where you are getting your weight figures but that honda has to be atleast 50lbs. more... plus it doesn't have the weight centralization of the zx. If you don't care about top end you can always gear the zx down and have the best of both worlds (talking like 50 bux here).
Have you ridden both bikes?

 

My father has a 98 CBR900RR with Factory stage 2 jet kit and full 2 brothers exhaust. I can keep up with him neck and neck until about 90.

With the fuel injection and long stroke, the 636 has a ton of acceleration and will be a much better overall bike than that 01 Honda. Go with the Kawi!

 

we'll this depends on what kinda rider u are the 929 is a badass bike but what's the point of buying it if you don't go for the speed and all that high end power....I've ridden many 1000cc sportbike's and there all greatwith a whole lot of tourquebut the performance of the 636 is just sick and if u like twisties go with the kawi. I believe that it's the best handlingbike on the road...this is a basically a track bike on the street and KAWI green too this one should be easy for you takethe kawi through your curvy back roads and really get on it to the best of your abilities, it won't disappoint
