Default 05 06 zx6r (636) question

does your stock clutch suck ? does it seem like after a few miles it fades away real fast ? is it just me or am i use to heavy duty clutches ?

side note, after i shift gears at speed, it felt like the cable was kicking back into the lever, any ideas ?

around town i do use the clutch but freeway where i can speed shift i do not. im talking about like if i go about 5 blocks and stop at each one. i let the clutch out to go and it seems like the bike dont want to go like the clutch is slipping really bad.

What is your engine temp when the clutch seems to fade? If I was stuck in traffic or going through towns on my old bike, the engine would get real warm, prob. 200 degrees plus, and the clutch would get so bad that I couldn't get the bike in or out of gear without it grinding. I would try a thicker oil next time you change the oil. Maybe a 10W40 or 20W50 depending on what you use now.

Maybe the Slipper Clutch Ramp cams are stuck. Try downshifting hard. How many miles on this clutch? I rode an 06 and couldn't really feel the difference between it & my bikes clutch. Maybe his wasn't working right either.

temp was upwards in the 200 range, id pretty much dump it and it would chatter. ive heard that the clutch is rather spongy in the 05 06 but it hadnt really been an issue before. i only have about 4000 miles on it, mabey 50 or so clutch wheelies, non abused riding.

at first i thought it was the cush drive on the new rims but everything is solid.
