04 Ninja ZX-6R Speedometer not workiing
Hey guys, first post here, but anywhooo, I just picked up an 04 ZX6R and the speedometer doesn't work. Whenever I'm riding it just displays random numbers instead of the actual speed. Also, when it's in neutral at a stop sometimes if I rev it the mph goes up and sometimes it doesn't.
How would I go about fixing this other than getting raped at the dealer?
Thanks

The speed sensor is bad. It is just above the shift leverin the center ofLH sprocket cover. Replace that and you should be good to go. Maybe the guy broke a chain and damaged it previously.
thanks for the welcome, i'll def go make a thread in the newbie section. i was thinking i had to buy a whole new guage cluster =X the bike has been dropped once before which would probably explain the broken speed sensor, time to go shopping on ebay. is it simple to replace? i've done a few mechanical things with my car such as installing new suspension and what not but never messed with anything electrical related.
if it said 636 it would be even more gangster =D
out of curiosity, where could i pickup a speed sensor? i'm guessing ordering from the kawasaki dealership itself?
edit: would this do the job?
