So Im ording the bolt ons monday and after looking at Akras site I see that u can order an open muffler or one that is street legal. Any suggestions? Is there a reason to go open? Or should I just get the street legal version? THANKS

 

Street legals are DOT approved meaning you won't get a fix it ticket for the modification. Open muffler is supposed to be just for racing and display purposes but its more Horsepower and louder.

 

The open does not really mean more hp for a slip on/bolt on(maybe 1 or 2hp), but is louder and can attract more unwanted attention. I do not think that the open is really that loud though but it is not DOT approved.

 

Get the open one it sounds way better and then just keep your stock can in case you get a citation [>:]and then you can switch them for the fix it ticket. Then switch them back afterwords.

I ran a full akrapovic system and had no problems with popo.
