Weird gas tank issue

I have an 07 650R which gives me the usual you're low on fuel warning but the thing is that when I fill up the tank it only fills up about a gallon and a half. Is there something wrong with the sensor?

Yup, sounds like the sensor may be out of whack.

The full capacity is 4.1 gallons. The light is suppose to come on at 0.9 gallons. That's basically 1/4 tank. You can still go a long way after the light comes on.
