i'm about to buy a 650r, and i was wondering when and how often general maintenance needs to be done? things like oil changes, air filter and whatnot? also, what are some good brands to look at for things like oil? i'm new to bikes, so any useful information would be awesome.

 

Oil depends. I change mine every 3k. The 650R only takes 2 quarts so it is cheap.

 

Same here I do it around every 3000 miles even though I think that is sooner then the manual calls for.
