Hey guys. Me like the idiot i Am lost my owners manual. Im just wondering what the 3000 mile maintenance calls for on my 2005 zx6r. Do the valves need to be adjusted? or is it a simple fluid top off and oil change? Thanks!

 

well, two thoughts. One is bring it in and get bent over the counter. the other is do it your self. I own a 05 636 and i got 6 k on it right now. oil change and general inpection is what I did at 3 k but i also changed my oil at 750 miles too. But im looking at the book now and i tell you what they want;
LMAO check every thing....lol easyer to type then all the stuff you are to do! but 15 k is valve clerance check so i think you ok for a bit. I would look at chain and make sure you got lube on the whole thing(no dry spots) and wear patterns on both sets of teeth. and normal fluids, air fliter and just make sure there are no loose bolts, high rev motor = vibrations tthat COULD back out some screws and such. Im not a kawi tech but i am an auto tech, I hope i helped a bit.

Ditto on Dustin's info. May want to invest in an adjustable cam chain adjuster when nearing the valve adjusting time. You may start hearing cam chain noise sooner though. Mostly, just change your oil, filter, check air filter, adjust & lube chain & cables.

 

hmmm cam chain noise? now when my bike is in gear and i have the clutch in at idle it sounds normal now when i put it in neutral and let the clutch out it sounds a little different. is this cam chain noise?
