Ok, my '07 650R is still in the break in period and I am wondering if anybody has encountered this similar issue.

I have problems with the bike wanting to downshift at all. This occurs mostly after really getting into it (almost full throttle but not completely open) and shifting through the gears fast. After the fun when i clutch and push down with my feet it does not switch gears and it feels really stiff like if your in first and you push down (where there is no gear to go to).

Is this issue common? Should I be worried or just a little clitch that will get better once the bike is broken in?

I know that mine will not let me go into first without it either sitting still or moving extremely slow in traffic.

 

I have no problems getting into first or any other gear when I'm just cruising. This seems to only happen when I'm all the way up into sixth and common when I **** 'n git on a straightway. Once I start slowing down and want to downshift it seems like its stuck in sixth and usually have to wait til I come to a stop and start pounding on the lever to get it to go down in gears but after it does its ok.

 

I have had no problems with mine, you may want to bring it by the dealership to let them look at it.
